Who knows the most about you?
The real answer might surprise you.
Your phone knows you better than you know yourself.
It tracks where you go.
Who you call.
What you search for.
It knows when you're sleeping.
When you're awake.
(so does Santa, btw)
I checked my screen time last week.
21 hours. 3h 3m per day.
That's more than half a work week spent scrolling, tapping, swiping.
But here's what hit me harder:
My phone revealed the gap between who I say I am and who I actually am.
I say family comes first.
My phone says I spent 3x more time on LinkedIn than FaceTiming/Calling/Texting my family.
I say health is a priority.
I only averaged 6,097 steps when the goal is 10,000.
I say I value deep work.
My phone says I averaged 116 pickups PER DAY last week. WHAT!?!
The data doesn't lie. And neither does your phone.
It's not judging you. It's just keeping score.
Every unlock tells a story.
Every app reveals a priority.
Every notification you chase shows what owns your attention.
Here's the uncomfortable truth:
If your phone wrote your eulogy based on your usage, would you be proud of what it said?
"He never missed a Twitter notification."
"She responded to every Slack within 3 minutes."
"He knew every LinkedIn update by heart."
That's not the story I want my phone telling.
Your phone is writing your biography in real-time.
Every tap is a vote for who you're becoming.
What story is yours telling?
Is it time to write a better one?
Jeff
P.S. Check your screen time right now. Does it match who you say you want to be?
